Add Product Costs and Connect Your Ad Accounts
Profitario can already see your store's revenue and orders the moment you connect it. To turn that into your real net profit, it needs two more things from you: what your products cost, and what you spend on ads. This guide walks through both. Most stores finish in under 10 minutes.
Why these two steps matter
Revenue is what customers pay you. Profit is what you keep. The gap between them is mostly your product costs and your ad spend, so until both are in, your profit numbers are incomplete.
Once they are in, every report, from your dashboard down to individual products, shows true profit after costs, ads, fees, shipping and taxes.
Step 1: Add your product costs
In your store's sidebar, open Product Costs.
- The page lists your products. Click a product to expand it and show its variants.
- In the Unit Cost column, enter what each variant costs you. If you also pay a separate per-item handling or packaging cost, add it in the Handling column.
- Click Apply All to save your changes.
Two faster ways to fill costs in:
- Import a spreadsheet. Click Import Costs, then Download Template, fill in your costs in the spreadsheet, and upload the file back.
- Pull costs from Shopify. If you already record a "cost per item" in Shopify, click Cost sync. Turn on Auto-sync from Shopify to keep future Shopify cost changes up to date, or click Apply latest Shopify costs to import them right now. Any costs you typed in yourself are kept.
Step 2: Connect your ad accounts
In the sidebar, open Integrations.
- Under Marketing, choose your ad platform (for example Facebook / Meta Ads, Google Ads or TikTok Ads) and open it.
- Click Connect Integration and sign in to authorize Profitario.
- On the Select accounts to import step, tick the ad account you want, choose which store it belongs to, and click Start Import. You can use Skip if you would rather finish it later.
Your ad spend then imports and keeps updating on its own.
What changes after setup
- Your dashboard shows real net profit after costs and ad spend, not just revenue.
- Each product is ranked by profit, so you can see which ones actually make money.
- Ad spend updates automatically each day.
You can track how far through setup you are from the checklist in your sidebar.
